Online Security
Hi! Thanks for visiting Virus Emergency, where I will give you a lot of virus help, information and great solutions for your online security needs!
There are basically two types of internet users in the world: those who have had to deal with viruses and those who will have to deal with viruses. I hope that you are simply someone who wants to protect yourself from the threat of a virus and not someone whose computer is currently infected. “Knowledge is power,” is a phrase that can’t be used too much because it applies to every facet of our lives, and certainly applies to online protection. The purpose of this site is to give you the knowledge you need to protect yourself from, and eradicate, online threats.
Before I go on I want to give some advice for those who would prefer a quick solution over knowledge. If all you want from me today is my personal software recommendation, just hop on over to eset.com and buy their Nod32 software. I have personally used Nod32 for several years and recommend it very highly for those who just want to surf the internet and forget that viruses exist. You can read my review of eset.com’s Nod32 software or you can click the affiliate link below to purchase.
Let’s take a look at some facts about viruses. Did you know that PC viruses have been around since the 80s? The first virus was actually created as an experiment in 1971. In 2003, one virus infected Bank of America, Continental Airlines, Microsoft, City of Seattle, and Washington Mutual. One virus! In 2008 Symantec, creator of Norton antivirus software, claimed that their software had detected 1,122,311 different viruses during the life of their product. Without proper protection it would be possible for you to go to a site as innocent as, say, Google and be infected with a virus. Hopefully if you have always thought that viruses were not something you needed to worry about, the above facts will make you think again.
Part of the reason why the problem of viruses has been so widespread and sometimes almost insurmountable is because there is no chicken or egg question here. Between viruses and cures we know which comes first. Unfortunately, the people who try to stop viruses are often forced to learn from the virus itself, meaning they are often a step behind. This is why educating yourself about viruses, learning preventative measures, and using software that works for your web-surfing needs are crucial steps you must take to protect yourself from criminals who seek to harm you through viruses.
